- A series of hollow organs joined in a long, twisting tube from your mouth to the anus. The organs that make up your gastrointestinal tract are the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, which includes the colon and rectum, and anus. Also called the GI tract, alimentary canal, or digestive tract.
