Article on type 1 diabetes prevention now available in “Diabetes in America”

NIDDK’s “Diabetes in America” has an updated article on preventing type 1 diabetes (T1D). The article, published in June 2024, summarizes research on primary prevention trials in people who have a genetic predisposition for T1D; secondary prevention trials for people with markers of T1D; and intervention trials to potentially prevent or reverse disease progression.

“Diabetes in America” is NIDDK’s assessment of epidemiologic, public health, clinical, and clinical trial data on diabetes and its complications in the United States and covers the spectrum of diabetes. New or updated articles such as this one are published on a rolling basis in NIDDK’s Strategic Plans and Reports and on the National Library of Medicine’s Bookshelf, and are searchable in PubMed®.
