Submission Deadline
November 8, 2019
This is a call for poster abstracts for the annual meeting of the NIDDK U54 O’Brien Urology Cooperative Research Centers, P20 Benign Urology Research Development Centers, and K12 Multidisciplinary Urological Research and Epidemiology Centers, research programs that are collectively Collaborating for the Advancement of Interdisciplinary Research in Benign Urology.
The meeting is December 4—6, 2019, at the Kansas City Airport Marriott Hotel in Kansas City, MO. Abstracts of work completed, in progress, or planned are appropriate. There are 2 poster sessions:
- General moderated session. In this 90-minute session, presenters will each give a 1 minute “flash talk” at the beginning of the session. When all presenters are done, posters are available for one-on-one viewing and discussion.
- Selected abstracts session. This is also a 90-minute moderated poster session but is limited to 15 abstracts. Abstracts from all those submitted will be selected by a committee of CAIRIBU investigators. Abstracts considered particularly meritorious (e.g., due to high quality data, provocative ideas and/or hypotheses, etc.) will be chosen. Presenters will each have 3 minutes at the beginning of the session to present their work. When all are completed, posters are available for one-on-one viewing and discussion.
Submitting Abstracts
All abstracts must be submitted via email to Kristina Penniston, Ph.D., coordinator of the O’Brien Centers Interactions Core.
Instructions for Formatting an Abstract
The following guidelines are more or less the same as those for other meetings to which you might submit abstracts. Abstracts should:
- Be around 300 words, not including title, authors, affiliations (figures/tables optional)
- Include sufficient information about the nature and significance of the topic in the title
- Include authors’ names on the line below the title and authors’ affiliations below that
- Be formatted in Microsoft Word and single-spaced with 1” margins on all sides. Use 11-point Arial, Calibri, or Times New Roman font.
Posters
Posters will be set up at the beginning of each session. Posters should have the same title as the submitted abstract. Print posters so they are no larger than 4’ high and 6’ wide. Feel free to contact me with questions.
